SIFM provides comprehensive underwater inspection and hull thickness measurement services using the latest certified equipment. Our surveys give ship owners and operators precise data on the structural condition of their vessels — without the delay and cost of dry-docking.

Using the Cygnus TSR MK4 ultrasonic thickness gauge, our divers can measure hull plating corrosion rates in real time. Coupled with our Outland CON-3200 underwater inspection camera and metal detector, we deliver a complete picture of underwater hull integrity ready for your classification society or port authority records.

How We Work

Our Inspection Process

Pre-dive Briefing
We review vessel history, target areas, and classification requirements with the ship's officer before any diver enters the water.
Visual Survey with Camera
Our diver conducts a systematic camera sweep of all hull areas — bow, flat bottom, propeller, rudder, sea chests, and keel — recording HD footage for the report.
Thickness Measurement
Using the Cygnus TSR MK4 ultrasonic gauge, we take calibrated measurements at designated grid points on the hull plating to map corrosion rates.
Metal Detection Sweep
Where required, we perform a metal detector sweep to identify any foreign objects or anomalies on the hull or in the vicinity of the keel and intakes.
Certified Report Delivery
A detailed inspection report with HD photos, video evidence, thickness data tables, and findings summary is delivered for classification society or owner records.
